USB Controller needs to be replugged in to work

That’s all right. I stumbled upon another solution by happenstance. I held the 1P button while plugging it in.

Which one firmware (of what): UEFI or USB device?

Also, there is a practice of some users: after an update to set default setting and to re-set all settings again. As example I hear that about Mikrotik routers FW. The point is: new features can bring new options which better works in new combination, but without setting reset, you got new features with default settings and old setting of previously existed features, which is could be not a best way to operate between each other.

So it is off-topic non Manjaro OS related, but try to remember your current settings (or to take several photos), to reset settings (load optimized defaults, whatever…), and to setup it again.

But it is unknown will that fix your issue or not.
