USB 3.0 not going past the speed of USB 2.0

Hi, i noticed my External HDD’s are very slow when i try to transfer files between them: like 30Mb per second. They obviously are 3.0 devices, and in windows they read/wtite at 110Mb per second.

here the output of lsusb -t

[mosco@matebook ~]$ lsusb -t

Could someone help me?
Thanks

Try plugging the external disk after booting the computer. This could help that USB 3.0 features are enabled.

Mass Storage device appears to be plugged in to an external hub on Bus 001

I suggest try using USB Bus 002 without a hub

Hi guys, thanks both for the answers!

My laptop is a Huawei Matebook with only 2 usb-c ports. Now i tried to plug one of my usb HDD to the right port without any hub and now it read/writes as is espected to be!

The Hub i used is the official matedock 3, i thought it is usb 3.0…

[EDIT] It is USB 3.0, but i need to plug in the port on the right side. (but in the right side it does not output the video… ) ooook!!

I suggest you post lsusb -t to show “working” USB connections for the viewers at home

but in the right side it does not output the video

Laptop and/or dock might not be able to deliver enough power for a USB display
Does the USB display device have it’s own power supply or a USB power connection?
Upgrade to a powered dock might help for using multiple USB devices

The dock can be powered. I use it on the left port because it can “pass trough” the power and charge the laptop. But i recently discovered it runs at usb 2.0

The right port has the video output, but it’s not able to charge the laptop.

However it has enough Power for two usb HDD’s
