Hello everyone,
after the recent update on my laptop my external monitor in the VGA port won’t get recognised anymore: When booting with the monitor plugged in I see a duplicated view of my internal screen. After fully logging in the external screen gets deactivated. Replugging doesn’t help. What helps is plugging a (not connected) HDMI-to-VGA-adaptor into the HDMI-port - now the system correctly detects three screens (internal, external on VGA and “virtual” on HDMI). Removing the adaptor instantly deactivates the VGA port. An unconnected HDMI-cable doesn’t help.
I did a few things, but the situation didn’t change at all. So I hope you have some ideas on where to look on my system, what to try or where to post this next. Thanks a lot!
What I did:
The update:

With the recent updates to the nvidia driver, do you think it is still worth going through the hassle of installing optimus-manager
? (suggested in https://forum.manjaro.org/t/vga-isnt-working-after-updating-to-nvidia-drivers/34353 ) Or would you recommend to wait for updates? Or even to uninstall nvidia-prime
?
