Update stuck at "Running post-transaction hooks..."

Trying to update but it has been stuck for hours at:

Running post-transaction hooks...

does anyone know what I should do?

It looks like it only installed the manjaro-keyring. I would kill it and start the update again without rebooting.

exit terminal?

Try ctrl+c in terminal.

I wasn't using the terminal to update. I was using pamac. So with your advice I cancelled pamac and tried again but it wouldn't apply the updates as it said it was waiting for another package manager to close. So I updated with Octopi successfully instead and after Octopi updated pamac also said "system is up to date." So then I rebooted just to make sure everything was good to go. I like pamac's GUI much better but Octopi seems to work better--at least with KDE Plasma--probably why that is what ships with it. Anyway, thank you for your help today dalto.
