Update requests for packages imported from Arch Linux

:stop_sign: Please read before posting

This thread is here to request updates for packages that are in the official repositories of Manjaro and that are imported directly from Arch Linux. These packages are not signed by anyone in the Manjaro Team, but rather signed by a maintainer of Arch Linux.

Hereā€™s an example of a package that is imported directly from Arch Linux. Notice the archlinux.org email domain of the packager. Note that Arch community packagers may not have an archlinux.org email address.

āÆ pacman -Si libreoffice-still | grep Packager
Packager : Evangelos Foutras <foutrelis@archlinux.org>

Or with Pamac, same result as above:

pamac info libreoffice-still | grep Packager

Packages in the Arch Stable branch are synced multiple times a day to the Manjaro Unstable branch. They gradually go on to the Testing and Stable branches.

Security updates and binary packages are regularly fast tracked. This may be done in one of two ways:

  • Importing the package directly from Arch and pushing it to the Manjaro repos
  • Building the package manually with an upstream patch by a Manjaro packager

Please check if the package is already updated or flagged out of date before posting: Arch Linux - Package Search

Please justify why the requested update should be taken into consideration. ā€œBecause it is not the newest versionā€ will most likely not be enough to consider pushing an update immediately.

Any plans (ETA) to update Netbeans package from 12.0 to 12.1 ?

Thatā€™s directly taken from arch and 12.1 hasnā€™t reached unstable yet - so Iā€™d say no.
Itā€™s been flagged out of date on arch: Arch Linux - netbeans 12.0_u1-1 (any)

Ok, thks for the info.

Hello,

Please update the SIGNAL desktop app as it is no longer able to get linked to phones without update to current version. Flatpak and Snap versions are updated but not the Official one. I had to install the Flatpak but so many people on the net are speaking against Flatpaks so I am not sureā€¦

Signal updates very frequently like in 1-2 weeksā€¦

Thatā€™s an arch package, Arch Linux - caprine 2.48.0-1 (any).
Itā€™s flagged out-of-date since 2020-09-17.

KiCad has a new release that updates to 5.1.7 as of September 30th. I use KiCad frequently, and Iā€™d love to have the bug fixes that come with this release when someone has the chance to update the package. I created a forum account for this message, and it looks like Iā€™m too new to post links. Plain text URL included below (remove the spaces). Thanks!

Edit: bad formatting

KiCad is from Arch, and itā€™s been flagged out of date in Arch.

code (aka vscode) is outdated. manjaro states ā€˜code-1.49.1-1ā€™ to be up to date whereas archlinuxā€™ package-site reports ā€˜1.50.1-1ā€™

1.50.1-1 is currently in the testing branch.

Please update zfs-utils from the archzfs repo.

Currently the initcpio hook script is outdated and I cannot boot my root on zfs when ecryption is enablend. Replacing it with the version from the archzfs repo it works right away.

Iā€™ve updated it to build -2 in unstable.
Please test it and give me a feedback.

Wow that was fast!

It works. Thank you very much!

Vivaldi is in Arch [community] repo now, and is likely to be removed from AUR soon. It would be nice if it can be added to Manjaro repo. :innocent:

It already is in the Manjaro repos, currently only unstable:

It will be along to other branches soonā„¢:
