Update mkinitcpio faced error

Last night I updated my system (about 4 GB) and today morning another update was available for mkinitcpio package. So I just tried to update it but it exited with error. The full result is provided below:

error: command failed to execute correctly

What’s the problem and how can I fix it?

NOTE: During previous updates, some of these warnings and errors was there but they never caused a problem till now. I wish fixed them immediately :frowning_face:

Information

$ uname -a
Linux milad-pc 5.4.230-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Tue Jan 24 11:04:34 UTC 2023 x86_64 GNU/Linux

it complains about linux414, which is a dead kernel - end of life - no longer supported…
post output from:
mhwd-kernel -li

The result is as below:

$ mhwd-kernel -li
Currently running: 5.4.230-1-MANJARO (linux54)
The following kernels are installed in your system:
   * linux414
   * linux419
   * linux54

Should I remove linux414?

yes remove it:
sudo mhwd-kernel -r linux414
and the mkinitcpio should now finish without errors, so check

Adjust your Manjaro-Notifier-Settings to warn you when EOL-kernel is still installed.
