Update issue with 17.0.6

A friend had me install Manjaro 17.0.6 and after install proceeded to do the update and ran into this:

Can someone guide me to how to resolve this?

If this is a fresh installation I’d recommend you download a current installer and reinstall. It will be far quicker than stepping through all the intervening issues and re-downloading several gigabytes of updated packages.

Alternatively, step 1:

sudo rm /usr/lib/firefox/distribution.ini
sudo pacman -Syu

Thank you for the speedy reply, it is installed with Windows 10 on his laptop. Do you still recommend doing a re-install with a newer version. He does not have a speedy connection and I was wondering if alternate method might be better because of time.

Also you will need to remove engrampa-thunar-plugin

You’d have to compare the amount of downloads needed at this point versus the amount for a new image.

I’d always recommend installing with the newest (working) installer image.

I downloaded the latest and installed without issue, thank you to everyone that responded.
