i hit the snag of having archlinux-keyring-wkd-sync failing repeatedly. with same troublesome expired key. followed;

Yep, that’s most likely expired key, check with pacman-key -l andrew@archlinux.org and if indeed expired, you can safely remove it with sudo pacman-key --delete andrew@archlinux.org

to remove the expired key and it is working again
