Thanks, I ended up using the latest nightly which seems to work with java 16.
Dash to panel v43 is o.K. in unstable AND working in (actual) testing.
Earlier, when I got pacman 6 via update, I got pacman.conf.pacnew
with the #ParallelDownloads=5
commented line.
There is the zipped manjaro-kde-21.06-development-unstable-210618-linux510.iso
in the Release Release 202106180255 · manjaro-plasma/download · GitHub list. I realized that it’s /etc/pacman.conf
lacks the ParallelDownloads
option at all: it is completely absent.
If it is right pacman.conf
state in the yesterday’s image, then what was the reason to completely remove the option instead of leave all unused but available setting as commented?
I noticed now that linuxXXX-virtualbox-guest is no more in the repositories, should I use virtualbox-guest.iso or is not needed?
The only packages you need on your PC (the host) are virtualbox
and linuxXXX-virtualbox-host-modules
. Having virtualbox-guest-iso
installed is handy as you can mount it in the guest and install the guest-utils. You can also install virtualbox-ext-oracle
from the AUR for added functionality.
@nightmare-2021
Probably it is a duplicate, but let it be more know as happens on my PC config also:
while kernel >5.10 installation I got: `WARNING: Possibly missing firmware for module: qat_4xxx`
The PC has the Intel Core i5-8250U CPU.
The warning was present while I was installing linux-5.13-rc6
.
Today I got the same warning while I was installing `linux-5.13-rc7`

Thanks just installed kernel 5.13 and the new 21.1 Beta
@freggel.doe
Manjaro got the new (5.13 release) kernel done, uploaded to repos, even a user got update and took it into run, but kernel.org still has the outdated rc7
listed. Looks like unusual delay for the kernel.org and fast adapt by Manjaro.
For those of you running an AMD GPU and wonder why the machine is running hot and consumes a lot of power: There is some issue that causes GPU load to be at 99% all the time (pinning it to use max-clockspeed)
Following kernel versions are affected:
5.12.13
5.10.46
5.4.128
Hopefully it’s fixed with the next patch version.
5.13.0 is not affected. It got fixed prior to release.
Fixed in currently available kernels
5.12.14
5.10.47
Did not test the older 5.4 kernel.
I’ve had an error while updating Dash to dock:
erreur : la validation de la transaction a échoué (conflit de fichiers )
gnome-shell-extension-dash-to-dock : /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/dash-to-dock@micxgx.gmail.com/schemas/gschemas.compiled est déjà présent dans le système de fichiers
Des erreurs se sont produites, aucun paquet n’a été mis à jour.
gschemas.compiled
file was already existing and apparently could not be recreated/deleted automatically.
Just in case, I made a Timeshift backup and renamed the file in gschemas.compiled.old
.
All went well from there.

But looks like the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports works.

I’m getting far worse performance since [Unstable Update] 2021-05-17 - Kernels, Systemd, Toolchain, KDE Gear, LibreOffice, Haskell
Might be the nvidia driver. Frames in sea of thieves were cut in half (at least). I already tried older proton versions, but so far without success.
Edit: Going back to stable doesn’t fix this.
Have this message today too.
Since update (Do.9.07.2021) I get a “question-mark-icon” instead of network-symbol…
(Network running o.K.)
EDIT:
after downgrading networkmanager from (1.32.6-1) to (1.32.4-1) Problem has gone…
That is what version 1.32.4-1 does:
[connectivity]
uri=http://ping.manjaro.org/check_network_status.txt
Version 1.32.6–1 uses https: instead. [solved]
EDIT - message on starting "Gnome-DE):
