I appear to have run into some mkinitcpio trouble with the latest kernel images. The vmlinuzs aren’t copied into /boot for some reason? See:

I checked pacman.log, 90-mkinitcpio-install.hook did indeed run before attempting to build the images. cryptsetup, mkinitcpio, linux54, linux58, and sudo were all updated with this run. Trying to reinstall them isn’t helping…

The font issue I reported on KDE-Dev has been fixed upstream, and is also resolved on Manjaro KDE-Dev.

package seems to have been dropped from repositories and the versioning schema changed, leading to:

ghostpcl>=9.53.2-2 and ghostxps>=9.53.2-2 updates require manual intervention

The ghostpcl and ghostxps packages prior to version 9.53.2-2 were missing a soname link each. This has been fixed in 9.53.2-2, so the upgrade will need to overwrite the untracked files created by ldconfig. If you get any of these errors

when updating, use
pacman -Syu --overwrite /usr/lib/libgpcl6.so.9,/usr/lib/libgxps.so.9
to perform the upgrade.
It’s not an “issue” per se, I just enabled downgrading for this one package afterwards and thus updated to the latest available version:
$ sudo pacman -Suu sndio
It’s not an orphan becaus it’s an optional dependency for another package.
It was on my system as libquicktime wasn’t installed. Actually, I took the opportunity to clean up all the real orphans on my system and regained 500MB of disk space
Curiously, python2 was also removed per the wiki -Qtd command (versus -Qttd)…that was a bit odd considering that’s optional for a few installed packages but nonetheless didn’t cause issues for me after removal.
KDE-Dev unstable, the kicker > Leave > Shut Down sequence initiates the count-down timer, but does not shut down. However, krunner > systemctl poweroff does shut down.

I updated to nvidia 455. The package, nvidia-455xx-utils, doesn’t include /usr/bin/nvidia-settings, am I missing something here?
That does seem to be the case. Neither pacman -F
, nor the PKGBUILD appears to indicate that it is part of nvidia-455xx-utils
.
Gnome 3.38
Manything is working but some extensions not yet updated:
(Sensor Perception) <-- working again! after update.
I installed the Gnome 3.38 from the unstable branch (and all other updates from that bracch)/
I am using the nouveau driver which has been working fine for months.
Now Gnome crashes on startup and I can not run an X session.
dmesg shows the following error:
direct firmware load for nouveau/nv84_xuc00f failed with error -2
Checking some more, the problem seems to be with gnome-shell/mutter 3.38.1
After downgrading both of those to the 3.36.6 versions, I am able to run the Gnome desktop again along with the various 3.38 gnome applications
NOTE: I still get the error about failed firmware load but it doesn’t seem to matter.
Bluetooth audio seems to be broken with “pulseaudio-modules-bt” after the latest update (it does work with “pulseaudio-bluetooth” though)
edit needs rebuilt against pulseaudio 13.99.2
