I will try on next sddm update. I had this error if still relevant.

#23

3d programs doesnt work anymore after the update

manjaro ~]$ glxgears
Error: couldn’t get an RGB, Double-buffered visual

this on intel and on nvidia (optimus system)

Also on kde clicking on the kde launcher, there is a little time delay that is annoying.

and when trying to open steam it says:

“OpenGL GLX extension not supported by display”

#24

Same here, system very sluggish.

$ glxgears
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual
$ primusrun glxgears
Error: couldn't get an RGB, Double-buffered visual

I also had some vlc instability using nvidia gpu via primusrun after latest unstable update. Seemed fine on 384.11-1, but crashing periodically on 384.11-2.

What changed to cause a rebuild bump in these?

Or is it a libglvnd rebuild issue?

EDIT :

Other laptop was not updated, still on nvidia 384.11-1, and no issues there.

The 40fps glx bug is even gone …

$ glxgears
304 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.616 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.004 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.007 FPS
$ primusrun glxgears
303 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.475 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.010 FPS
301 frames in 5.0 seconds = 60.002 FPS

Was this a kernel fix?

Oh, just checked the thread, 4.14.11-3 fixed it.

I had the same problem when i wanted to install openCL cpu implementation from intel which required that version of ncurses and fixed it by simply visiting package page at aur, got the key(short version) and receive it by gpg.

Have same problem, but glxgears not working again with kernel 4.14.12-2-MANJARO

$ glxgears
Error: couldn’t get an RGB, Double-buffered visual

All other application(Cura, Steam, slic3r), that use OpenGL not working.

Edit:
Sorry, read your post again. You told about fix with fps.

Looks like KDE and LXQt users got new KDE Frameworks 5.42.
Smooth upgrade on both VMs, and no immediate issues.
