Unlocked After Suspend

Occasionally, when I resume my laptop from suspend after closing the lid, the machine boots unlocked, despite being set to always require the password to unlock the PC. I think this might be connected to Gnome's night mode, but I could be way off with that. I'm afraid I don't really have much more detail to give, since I'm not really sure where to begin to hunt for relevant info.

Any help to find more info to help plug this hole would be very appreciated!

how certain are you that the laptop is going into suspend like it's suppose to?

As far as I can tell, the machine is suspended. The fan stops, and the power indicator starts pulsating. Apart from that, I don't know.

suspend, wait about 20 seconds and then wake and post these outputs right after.

also, are you sure auto-login is not enabled?
check gnome settings for an option to lock when suspending?
disable all gnome extensions and see if the problem goes away? if it does, turn them back on 1 at a time until the problem returns and you'll know which extension causes it.

This log was from a normal suspend cycle, where evereything happened as I expected. I had to enter my password to log in.
Auto-login is not enabled.
It is set to require password when resuming from suspend.
It is set to suspend when the lid is closed.
I'll try to disable extensions, but this will take some time, since I have kids and don't have time to do extensive troubleshooting right now... (Sorry)

take your time, the forum's not going anywhere.

im not sure if it's actually suspending like it should be, the time is 07:01:41 when it shows it's going into S3 suspend and it's the same stamp as when it's resuming from suspend. so whenever you get time, disable your gnome extensions and try again, then try also disabling bluetooth before suspending.

I have not yet tried this while disabling all extensions, but here is a log from earlier today where the bug happened, and the machine booted to an unlocked state:

can you check to see what process is 4652

it doesnt look like the laptop is actually suspending. it goes to suspend but fails so something is preventing normal suspend.

see what process that is and then try suspending from a terminal with
systemctl suspend and leave the screen open so you can see if it's actually in suspend, then post logs again
