So, after recently updating the usb drive with the new manjaro ISO my computer simply refuses to boot into the installation media for some reason, both on efi and legacy mode, I tried 2 different USB drives and both of them just display a blank gray screen, and get stuck in there. The weird thing is that it works completely fine on a little celeron from 2010 I have and Also works completely fine when I used the CatchyOS installer instead, so it seems like it’s manjaro specific. Any ideas as to what it might be?
Maybe a buggy iso, but we first have to know which one was it (full name and source) and secondly, did you check it after download for integrity? And thirdly- how do you flash the usb? We usually recommend ventoy here.
The full KDE Plasma one (manjaro-kde-26.0.4-260327-linux618.iso), Yes and balena etcher
e1 - I’ll go give ventoy a try instead and see if it helps
e2 - @soundofthunder So yeah, it really was my pc Being funky, Grub 2 mode on ventoy made it work like a charm so, many thanks
More information is needed:
- What did you use to create the USB?
- If Ventoy, did you check the settings before creation?
- Have you tried different USB types/ports?
- Which ISO is in play (be accurate; include the file name)?
- Lastly, did you check the ISO for consistency before using it?
Ventoy is generally recommended *
[Mini-HowTo] Provide System Information
Basic details provided by *-fetch type apps might give enough information for someone wishing to buy a computer, however, for Support purposes it’s best to ask your system directly.
Output of the inxi command will generate more useful and detailed information for those who may wish to help:

[Mini-HowTo] Present code or command output
Note: Grave accent (or, backtick) characters are used. ![]()
For inline code or to show a single command:
- please follow this simple example:
code here.
For multi-line command output:
- place text beween two rows of three (```) backtick characters to form a scrollable text box, or …
- use the </> button in the Compose window to achieve the same result.
The empty row between these rows of backtick characters is where to paste any multi-line command output (such as inxi).
An example of a pre-formatted text enclosure:
What is a Quark?
A. In Physics, an elementary particle and fundamental constituent of matter.
B. A character from the Star Trek: "Deep Space Nine" television series.
C. A soft, creamy, usually unsalted cheese traditional to central Europe.

If you type the @ character you should see a small modal dialog that allows you to select who to respond to from a dropdown list. This is convenient and helps misspelling a username, plus it notifies them of being mentioned.
