U-boot warnings & errors on Pinebook Pro startup

When I boot my Pinebook Pro using the latest version of uboot-pinebookpro (2021.10-2) from the testing branch I see the following warning as part of the boot output:

*** Warning - bad CRC, using default environment

Is this normal? What does it mean?

There’s also an error about a card not responding to a voltage selection?

I’m also curious about the message. In addition with latest update, I’m also getting new error message after boot starts:

Device 0: unknown device
Card did not respond to voltage select! : -110

These are normal.

As far as I know:

Means there was no writable environment fouynd for SPL variables. Usually the case when U-boot is used from eMMC or SD cards.

This just means that either eMMC or SD card was not present during boot.

Thanks a lot for clarification, couldn’t find a good clear answer on other forums.
