TV shows no signal when you turn the TV off and then later back on

Didn’t have this issue with latest EndeavourOS (arch) or Xubuntu 20.04 LTS.

I have a media PC hooked up to my TV via HDMI cable. I installed a fresh Manjaro XFCE 21.1.5 (x86/64) with Linux 5.13 kernel. I was able to disable the screenlock/screensaver and any sleep/hibernate function via power manager so that the OS won’t lock while left alone. What I discovered is that when I turn off my TV and later try to turn it on again, the TV displays “no signal” and no mouse click or keyboard combination (spacebar, enter, ESC, CTRL-ALT-DELETE, CTRL-ALT-ESC) works to wake up the OS.

I’m at a loss on what exactly is happening or why, my only solution is to power off via the power button. Any thoughts?

Specs:

  • Manjaro XFCE (64 bit)
  • Kernel Version: 5.13.19-2-MANJARO
  • Ryzen 3 2200G (4 core APU)
  • Nvidia GTX-1050ti
  • Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM @ 2666MHz
  • Driver Version: NVIDIA 470.63.01
  • Desktop Resolution: 3840 x 2160 (4K) @ 60Hz

Do you have some storage/peripheral mounted to your OS that connect to the pc from the TV?
I have mounted some storage to my OS by connecting them to the usb on monitor, and then a cable runs from the monitor to the PC.

No, it’s just a single HDMI cable from the graphics card to the TV.

Did you ever resolve your issue? I have the same (you found my thread) but haven’t figure it out as of yet
