Hello,
I have installed the latest xfce Manjaro (kernel 6.18) on my new TUXEDO InfinityBook Pro 15 - Gen10 - AMD.
After a few minutes, the system freezes. I can still move the mouse, but keyboard/MouseClick input is no longer possible.
No error is displayed in journalctl (journalctl -f).
I can still access terminal mode using Ctrl-Alt-F4, and I can return to the graphical interface using “sudo systemctl restart display-manager,” and the system runs again.
I have installed the following packages since installing the new system:
linux618-header
tuxedo-drivers-dkms (Official) 4.18.2.1
tuxedo-control-center-bin
xorg-xrandr
y6801-dkms (official, Tuxedo AUR package returns error).
The notebook is unusable in this state.
I would be very grateful for any help. Unfortunately, Tuxedo support is not helpful either, and I am at a loss as to where to look.
The infinititybook pro 15 comes in several APU flavours - which one is yours?
Have you tried without the tuxedo packages?
If they are providing essential functionality - I suggest you install the Tuxedo OS that came with the system - you can then look into the configuration of the system
Points of interest would be
/etc/kernel/cmdline or /proc/cmdline or /etc/default/grub
/etc/modprobe.d
/etc/modules-load.d
/etc/sysctl.d
/etc/sysctl.conf
Tuxedo systems is often based on Schenker or Clevo.
I have one Tuxedo InfinityBook Pro 14 Gen8. An Intel based system from a couple of years back 2023Q3. It work fantastic.
I also tried their AMD based system - but it was flawed from the beginning and I returned it after two days.
They support Tuxedo OS - almost as great as Manjaro - but not quite.
Their tomte perl script is great for dissecting their model specific tweaks
