I’ve switched to Linux (manjaro, obviously) about a month ago and I love it, except that my touchpad on my HP Laptop 15-db0xxx sometimes acts up. Acts up in the sense that it sometimes becomes unresponsive, very slow, or just does not work.
The first time it began to act up (a few weeks back) I was able to fix it by following the popular solution (reloading i2c_hid_acpi
) from the forum post ‘touchpad sometimes not working’ (unfortunately the forum is not allowing me to add the link to the post).
Two days ago my touchpad started acting up again, so I tried reloading i2c_hid_acpi
again:
modprobe -r i2c_hid_acpi && modprobe ic2_hid_acpi
But instead of it fixing the issue, I got this message:
modprobe: FATAL: Module ic2_hid_acpi not found in directory /lib/modules/5.15.23-2-MANJARO
I tried to search for a solution for the error message, but couldn’t find one. I am also a complete beginner, so couldn’t make any sense out of the error message. I ended up getting the touchpad working again by rebooting and running my updates a couple of times. But the proplem has come back; my touchpad is currently not working, and my cursor is not visible on the screen.
Here’s some information about my laptop:
