Kernel panic not syncing vfs but can boot with fallback initramfs

Hi
I am new to linux. Have been running ubuntu for 9 month and now on Manjaro.
I did install Manjaro on my Intel NUC and i really love it! So i decide to put the SSD from the NUC to my main PC that runs Ubuntu.
In ubuntu i did run “sudo update-grub” and it did find my Manjaro.

But when i select Manjaro from the grub menu i get kernal panic. From the grub menu i can select Manjaro fallback initramfs and it boots.

grub.cfg

I can of course reinstall Manjaro if it is hard to fixa. But good opportunity to learn something new.

Help much appreciated.

Hi,
Did you ever get a fix for this? I’m having a similar problem after installing Kali to dual boot on a system that is running Manjaro. Kali boots fine but the only Manjaro selection that will boot is the “failback”.

Hi,I have not find a good solution. I can edit the grub file manual but it is not rally recommended to do, and if grub update it will remove your changes.
I am planning to reinstall Manjaro on the disk.

If you find a solution please leave a comment. :slightly_smiling_face:

This fixed mine. Go to the link instead of following the steps in my post. The post truncated the last step which is the “update-grub” command.

Hope it helps.
