There is a hissing sound in the headset after updating to the latest manjaro version

I updated the latest version of the manjaro system on my laptop yesterday, then I put on my headset and noticed a hissing sound from the headset, at first I thought it was a problem with the headset, but I found nothing wrong with my headset itself, then I thought maybe some of my configurations had screwed up the system and reinstalled it. But after reinstalling the system as long as the update to the latest began the hissing sound, but if you play it externally, there is no hissing sound.I do not know how to solve it.

Hi. Does the noise decrease when you change the volume to a lower level? If so, you might as well check your gains in alsamixer. Set them to about 75% for all output and input devices and see what happens.

No, even if you mute the volume, there’s still a hissing sound, the sound is just lowered a bit.

Could you give us more info about your system by passing inxi -Fazy in terminal?

Seems like your system is not fully up to date. The potential solution can be using the latest stable kernel, i. e. upgrading to LTS Kernel 5.10 instead of your current 5.9 which is the End of Life.

I’ve updated to the latest version of the kernel, but the hissing doesn’t stop, is there anything else I need to do?

Thanks brother, it worked !!!!! :grinning: :grinning:

Sure thing! Just don’t forget to reboot after upgrading the kernel, guys. A new kernel can be loaded into the memory only during the boot time.
