When I try to install Manjaro, I am met with this warning. I have looked in similar forums and nothing has worked. I have all the right settings in the bios. This is my first foray into Linux. I had similar issues trying to install ubuntu and mint. I am using an X230 ThinkPad. I am not running windows on it, I am using a usb drive to boot the OS.
Hello @Maddox and welcome
At least let us now what system it is and what kernel log it produces:
inxi -Fazy
sudo dmesg
How does the partitioning look like ?
I apologize for the absence of replies.
I will admit, I am confused by this question. Please bear with my temporary ineptitude. I used those commands in the terminal but I do not know what you wish for me to extract from that data. Again, that is my personal issue, there was nothing wrong with your question. If you could explain what you wish from me precisely perhaps I could respond with confidence.
I am confused by this question as well. I simply do not understand.
Then boot the Manjaro USB stick and on console fdisk -l
.
No problem at all. ok I see you figured that these are commands for the terminal. I wish to have the whole output of each command, which is pasted here as code.

If you have problems catching the data, then you can pipe the output to a text file:
inxi -Fazy > ~/inxi.txt
sudo dmesg > ~/dmesg.txt
And copy it there.
Okay, here is what it produced.

You need to boot the USB stick and chroot into the system.
Your system firmware may be set for a vmd controller - from what I have read you may be able to bring it up by modprobing the device driver in a terminal in the live ISO
sudo modprobe vmd
I am not sure if the change will persist to the installed system - but let’s cross that bridge later.
An alternative is to change the disk access to AHCI in the system firmware.
