The system freezes for a while when turning on a video or when running a browser

Hello, I wanted to give some feedback here that apparently the error was fixed for me by changing the settings from “do nothing” to “sleep” and then back to “do nothing”. I then deleted the entire contents of “~/.cache/” and restarted the system.

Since then, the error has not occurred again.

Thank you very much for your help!

With the second monitor disconnected and the monitor off mode disabled, this problem occurs again

I’d first try an LTS kernel.
Another thing that caught my attention is the excessively heavy java process:

What is it? Maybe kill it and then start a video to check if it’s causing the lag.

PHPStorm (two copies).
This did not happen before the update from 03/05/2025. Tried different kernel versions (6.13, 6.14)

I have two identical Manjaro Linux OS. One is for work, the second is for myself. Both have the same situation. The software is different. The second one has no java at all.

This worked for me

When I wake up my computer, YouTube videos make it freeze for a bit. It fixes itself after a minute, but if I refresh the page, it freezes again.

Running systemctl --user status plasma-powerdevil reveals errors. Restarting systemctl --user restart plasma-powerdevil fixes the issue until the next time it sleeps and wakes up.

these are the errors on status

Looks like the dev fixed the DDCUtilDisplay but not made it in yet. I have this same problem. Seems like this would affect many.
