Buggy broken desktop animations when minimizing and maximizing

Hey guys wanted to share and post about buggy and broken animations, I am using a laptop with a GTX 1660TI and the video-hybrid 515.57 driver for Intel/Nvidia. I don’t seem to have any other options on the login screen other than Gnome Classic so I can’t change anything but in the about section I can see I am using X11.

Had to record it with my phone because the sneaky bugger would stop doing it as bad when I had OBS open  :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

@Strit @philm can confirm it doesn’t do this on the non prime Nvidia driver but using that driver results in bad batter drain and worse battery life so I would rather stick with the Nvidia prime driver even if it causes this minor issue.

Don’t exactly want to use this extension but I can also confirm it’s a bug with the animation itself because it does not do it at all when I use the magic lamp effect animation from this extension

https://extensions.gnome.org/extension/3740/compiz-alike-magic-lamp-effect/

Can you reproduce it if you set the refresh rate to 60Hz? Just curious.

Nope it sadly still does the same even on 60hz but the animation extension still works fine. I hope this gets fixed.

Problem resolved on Gnome 43 update.
