I have not noticed any regression yet on my Manjaro XFCE.

However, I tested the Manjaro Cinnamon on my AMD laptop (I did a fresh install of the 17.0.6 and installed all updates available before I switched to the Testing branch) and yes, I saw an big issue with the Cinnamon panel when we use the Adapta theme: the application menu has become way too transparent and thus, unreadable.

With the Adapta-Nokto-Maia desktop theme.

With the Adapta-Maia desktop theme.

However, other desktop themes doesn’t seems to have any issue at all.

With the Vertex-Maia desktop theme.

With the Cinnamon desktop theme.

As you can see, previews for Adapta themes aren’t available, but this is something that have been introduced before (I don’t remember when exactly though).

I don’t know what happened here. I received absolutely no updates for Adapta and no updates for Cinnamon too.

#23

In regard to the regression I got with Adapta theme for Cinnamon, I think I found the culprit. It seems to be one of Cinnamon dependencies: librsvg. Downgrading librsvg from 2:2.41.2-1 (the new version we have in Testing) to 2:2:40.20-1 (the old version I had before) fixes the problem I had with the application menu in Cinnamon.

I didn’t need to downgrade any other package.

It seems that the new version of librsvg does some weird shenanigans with Adapta desktop theme for Cinnamon. I don’t know yet if it’s a bug introduced in librsvg 2:2.41.2-1 or if Adapta theme needs some tweaks so it can work well with the new version of this library.

#24

I can confirm that librsvg 2:2.41.2-1 is the issue.

I did a full upgrade to testing except for librsvg 2:2.41.2-1 and everything is ok. As soon as I upgrade librsvg the adapta theme issue starts. Downgrading to 2:2:40.20-1 solves the issue.

My plank start delay issue remains. No clue what is causing this.

#25

I have created an issue for adapta:

#26

Please grab the new version 3.93.0.11-1 from unstable to check if issue is solved

#27

I tested it. It is not fixed with 3.93.0.11-1 .

#28

Evolution mail client doesn’t work with librsvg 2.41, crashing with error

thread '<unnamed>' panicked at 'Cairo error "invalid matrix (not invertible)"'

Downgrading to librsvg 2.40 solves the problem. Can someone check is it my local trouble? Thanks.

#29

The adapta devs fixed the issue:
