Just installed Manjaro KDE "manjaro-kde-21.2rc1-211211-linux515.iso" fails to recognize any USB devices

I’ve verified the drives are in fact known-good on another laptop (linux mint it pops right up).

The drive is spinning, I get the following when I run lsusb:

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 006: ID 04f3:24e1 Elan Microelectronics Corp. Touchscreen
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 0cf3:e007 Qualcomm Atheros Communications
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0bda:5696 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. Integrated_Webcam_HD
Bus 001 Device 013: ID 152d:0578 JMicron Technology Corp. / JMicron USA Technology Corp. JMS578 SATA 6Gb/s
Bus 001 Device 011: ID 03f0:0024 HP, Inc KU-0316 Keyboard
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0461:4d0f Primax Electronics, Ltd HP Optical Mouse
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
“Bus 001 Device 013: ID 152d:0578 JMicron Technology Corp. / JMicron USA Technology Corp. JMS578 SATA 6Gb/s” is my ext HDD.

I tried plugging in my external wifi and again lsusb sees it:
Bus 001 Device 014: ID 148f:3070 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT2870/RT3070 Wireless Adapter

However the OS just does not seem to detect it. I cannot seem to find it mounted anywhere. Shouldn’t this sort of thing just work out of the box?

Any thoughts?

Maybe try to install a different kernel like linux510 or so …

Rebooting fixed it…WEIRD.
