Systemd journal consistently corrupting, possibly related to btrfs?

AIUI, journald sets chattr +C on all journal files now so this isn’t needed any more. Hopefully this rules out CoW as a factor.

I don’t disable CoW on /var and got no errors so far.

To rule out a btrfs issue you can create a separate partition for /var in ext4 for example, copy everything to it except the corrupted files and observe the behaviour.

But, I’ve found accounts that this happens not exclusively with btrfs.
