System showing different gnome versions after update

After I did a full system upgrade I’ve noticed gnome was being updated to 40 but after the restart, the DE still looks and feels like gnome 3, checked settings and Neofetch output, and I see 2 different versions :expressionless:

Settings > About shows “GNOME Version 40.0.0”
While neofetch output shows “GNOME 3.38.4”

Am I missing something here or should I do something to enable Gnome 40 DE?

Update, Just read the release notes, page wasn’t loading before.

This probably indicate app version, which is 40.

That probably indicate shell version which is still 38.
