I have a laptop with built-in sound speakers and microphone, and a headset with both earphones and microphone, like this:
When I boot this laptop with Windows 11, and I plug the headset, a dialog from the sound card’s driver pop up asking me “Which device did you plug in?” and I can select an option like “Headset with microphone”:
(this is a screenshot I found on Google, I could upload a screenshot myself, but my Windows is in Brazilian Portuguese, I don’t know if that would be of any help)
On Windows, I’m able to record with the headset microphone.
Using Manjaro, I plug the headset to the laptop, I hear the sound on my earphones, but the system is using sound input from the laptop’s built-in microphone. I want sound input to come from the headset microphone. But I don’t find a setting for that.
I’m using Manjaro Linux with GNOME and all the latest updates applied.
