Switching refresh rate

Good. Now try the config for nvidia.conf i mentioned here:

Or try to find if in Nvidia X Server settings that monitor has the 144Hz option and preview the configuration, and paste it here, so we can modify nvidia.conf according to it. Makes sense? You will have to press on this button

image

Then instead of saving it to their default, you press Show Preview and copy that text.

Either you paste it here, or directly to /etc/X11/mhwd.d/nvidia.conf

Make sure you keep a backup of your current configuration that is working !!!
Before you reboot, delete again the

Copy/paste?

Edit it as admin and yes, copy/paste.

It didn’t work, unfortunately, so I had to restore the old conf (thank God you told me to back it up!). However, setting the refresh rate to 165 (which is the OC refresh rate) works perfectly… I am not sure wth is happening, but if it works for now, I’ll just leave it at that.

Thanks for the time you’ve taken to try and help me sort this out :raised_hands:

Always do that !!! Whatever you change in system config files, or users files, keep the backup of the one it worked even tho was not perfect.
Since you mention is working with the default and manually setting the refresh rate to 165, i’ll mark that as solution.
