Hello There !!
Normally in Arch, for downgrading the packages, you had to search for local package and the command used to be.
$ sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/linux515-5.15.89-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
but now it seems like it won’t work since Manjaro is diverting away from Arch.
I just found I had to enable downgrade option in pamac as told by my friend @mithrial
sudo pacman-mirrors --geoip --method
pamac update --force-refresh --enable-downgrade
I did this but after doing this will the above -U work as normal ?
If you’re downgrading like this, you will end up in a partial-upgrade state which is unsupported in any way (even more so than using the AUR).
From one patch release to the next, there shouldn’t be any new bugs. I guess your problem is coming from something else and not the kernel.
However, without any output of the commands and system information, there is nothing to pinpoint anything.

How can I share my system information or any information ?
Please tell me the command for it
Please tell us the problem you are trying to solve.
There can’t be a solution when there is no problem.
The command would be:
inxi -Fazy
for example
I want to downgrade my kernel to lts version forever.
here is inix -Fazy
inxi -Fazy ✔

It’s not a downgrade - it’s just a matter of installing another kernel so you’ll be able to choose which one you want to use.
You install the kernel through the Manjaro settings manager - and then choose it at the Grub prompt.

Unbeknownst:
forever
That’s a long time.
The latest current LTS is 5.15: pamac install linux515
(or with mhwd: mhwd-kernel --install linux515
)
However, it will be EOL in October this year: The Linux Kernel Archives - Releases
At least then you have to update.
But which problem do you actually have that you think you need 5.15?
just the brightness issue !!
I think the non-lts which gets new releases in short time.
I would love to have none of these issue for a long time.
I am just a basic manjaro user and don’t really know how to deal with stuff.
I tried this out but it didn’t downgrade…
Can’t you use the GUI? - it may be easier for you.
There seems to be a dependency issue, I guess, so the terminal output might be important.
sudo mhwd-kernel --install linux515 ✔

If that is not how to downgrade then what is it ?
I think I will open a issue on brightness because this screen is killing my eye.
It is you, re-installing a kernel you already had.
Don’t know where you described that issue.
Sorry for that but I am just trying to downgrade my kernel and nothing else
just the brightness issue !!
I think the non-lts which gets new releases in short time.
I would love to have none of these issue for a long time.
I am just a basic manjaro user and don’t really know how to deal with stuff.
I think I mentioned it above … anyways I just wanted to know the command of how to downgrade the kernel !!
Downgrading just the kernel, without also paying attention to the matching nvidia modules, will cause problems.
I think it’s better for me to stay out of here, @mithrial knows much better than me (I’m not even running Manjaro because this is one of the things that … annoyed me).

Thanks for the flowers.
Do you actually have an Nvidia GPU? Your inxi suggests otherwise.
yes I do and I am additionally using optimus manager where I am just using integrated gpu for long battery. I tried switching to hybrid mode and even fully nvidia but the brightness issue still persists.
I think I should open up a new thread for this but back to original question why am I not able to downgrade. Can you help me with it ?
Your inxi doesn’t list the nvidia. Which one do you have?
Are you fully uo-to-date?

I am pretty sure I am up-to-date. Given nvidia were too upgraded today in front of my eyes.
