Kaspersky/Bitdefender for Manjaro

Good day. I heard from others that I don’t need an AV for linux but I’m a paranoid person. I want to know if there is a way to download Kaspersky/Bitdefender in Manjaro (The legal and true way ofcourse). Thanks in advance.

Neither has a Linux version. clamav is available in the (extra) repositories. You may want to try that

Thanks. Will try that

clamav only scans for Windows viruses and is intended to help one protect Windows systems. There are no GNU/Linux viruses in the wild.

And if there were, a signature-based scan engine would not work because Linux users don’t buy snake oil and prefer to use their brain.

Eset make their nod32 AV for linux but they are dropping support for it next year

There are other linux AV but I’ve never used an AV since moving full time to linux

Not completely true, as seen by the spyware of FinFisher, which also has a linux version. But thx to official repositories it may be a bit harder to get the virus on to the computer.
