Suspend wake up - fan & lockup

Hi team

I’m hoping a bit of help to isolate the source of some recent trouble w/ laptop wake-up from suspend. This is a system76 machine.

Host: Galago Pro galp5
Kernel: 6.12.62-1-MANJARO
DE: Plasma 6.5.4

When the machine is not actively used I suspend, but recently, sometimes, when I wake it up, the fan comes on full throttle and the machine is otherwise locked up with black screen.

FYI, this started shortly after the 2025-12-08 - 25.1 Anh-Linh update. Maybe it’s related. Maybe not. Maybe it’s the first signs of hardware failure (?). Can’t tell.

It’s possible I need to fetch some log info but I’m not sure where that lives or how to retrieve it.

When the fan blasts it might be pointing to a thermal issue, but I’ve looked at temps and they seem fine.

Hello, I’m not sure I’ll be able to help, but I think it would be useful in any case to look at the output of journalctl -b -1 and inxi -Fza
