(This is a total dejavu, I was going to make the title identical to a thread that already exists from back in March, and I started it…).
I turned on my laptop today and my screen kept flickering. Since I have started using Timeshift a short wile ago, this is the first time I was able to check if the problem could be fixed be rolling back a recent update, and - voila: It could!
I restored my previous system state with Timeshift and the problem is gone.
