Ethernet Connection Deleted and not Showing Up

I’m trying to set up my desktop with an Ethernet connection, but I think I may have accidentally deleted it.

I tried the solution proposed in this post however it didn’t help.

If you (re-)create a simple ethernet connection in the Network Manager, it’s very straight forwards. Leaving the defaults is sufficient for most users.


What does the command ip address output?

I recreated a simple Ethernet connection in System Settings

Note: My wifi card works, but for privacy reasons I turned it off

I’m not sure if this might give some further insight but I’d figure I’d still share.

I’m not exactly sure which connection to make, whether it be Wired Ethernet or Wired Ethernet (shared).

When I make a new connection non-shared, it refuses to connect, however if I set it to shared, it connects, but says that the network cannot reach the internet

Don’t mind me, I hadn’t had my wifi extender plugged into the ethernet switch.
