Nvidia Geforce EVGA 3080 not detected

I just did a fresh install of Manjaro and went through quite a few similar posts that had a similar problem. Non of these match what I have specifically. I don’t have the option to update to any Nvidia driver. I don’t get a list and my GPU is not listed, I just have a generic video-nvidia 2020.11.30 and the issue is applications are not detecting a GPU either. For example blender loads under CPU alone and going to settings says GPU not detected. Here is some more information below:

I have 2 monitors and both of them are connected directly to the graphics card and extended displays is working fine.

It is currently using the nouveau driver (the open source crappy nvidia driver), try to remove video-linux, and reinstall video-nvidia after removing it.

Do it all following the wiki articles

https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php/Configure_Graphics_Cards

https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php/Configure_NVIDIA_(non-free)_settings_and_load_them_on_Startup

sudo mhwd -r pci video-linux
sudo mhwd -r pci video-nvidia
sudo mhwd -i pci video-nvidia

Reboot and see if it works.

Also you should install first the latest kernel 5.14, reboot, and see if it works, as 5.13 is not supported anymore and will be removed soon (EOL since a long time now).

Thanks it is now detected within blender and applications! I first did the kernel update which did not fix the issue then I removed linux and nvidia drivers and reinstalled nvidia. With the reboot everything is working.
