Stellarium 0.21.3-1 and libgps.so.29

Stellarium throws an error and can’t start. I only use default repos.

stellarium: error while loading shared libraries: libgps.so.29: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Any way to solve that?

Stellarium is an AUR package and you might want to (or need to) rebuild it.

Your version seems quite outdated (at least according to the Stellarium website). I would try updating to the current release, either from AUR or trying the AppImage.

Indeed, stellarium was outdated and rebuilding helped though I was quite sure I had disabled AUR repos. It was the opposite in fact.

Thank you.

Version 1.2-2 from Arch4Edu (Third Party…) is working:
https://archlinux.pkgs.org/rolling/arch4edu-x86_64/stellarium-1.2-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst.html
Is from a Third-Party repo - it works indeed since some days on my PC…
Own risk as usual… but AUR too.
But rebuild of1.2-1 works - only stellarium-bin (AUR) not stellarium (AUR)???
(On branch testing!)
Maybe a softlink is needed:from /usr/lib/libindiclient.so.2.0.0/usr/lib/libindiclient.so.1
because comment in: AUR (en) - stellarium
.

Hi @waldbaer59, the reason is that libindi reached version 2.0.0 and stellarium is not compatible.

We must wait the next release. See error: void INDIConnection::newDevice(INDI::BaseDevice*) marked override, but does not override · Issue #3038 · Stellarium/stellarium · GitHub
