OK , I think I fixed it !!!
I completely wiped steam from my pc including the folder from my $home directory. Then in my NTFS drives i removed the /compatdata folders. Changed the fstab NTFS driver from lowntfs-3g to ntfs3. Rebooted. Reinstalled steam.
Everything works fine now!!!
I still can not understand for the sake of my sanity what caused this problem thought…
