Ok so I’ve made a dumb mistake it seems. I reinstalled steam-manjaro but this time I installed the optional dependencies steam-native and some lib32 things. Worked like a charm.
NOTE: this was done after I re-installed Manjaro due to this problem, so maybe this isn’t a solution? Who knows but the person reading this should consider re-installing the app before the OS
