Even Linux Mint in Debian Tree has problems on a clean Install with luks bootdisk encryption as i saw a Linux Streamer pointed at it few month ago.
I always try to Warn people, not rely on all kind of features which could lead to problems.
But if they want to go the dangerous way and they don’t want to see the Stop sign… Okay its their choice.
Spoiler alert my Top 5 List which leads you into trouble under Linux and required advance configuration/maintaining: Evade 2 active GPU’s, evade 2 Monitor setups, evade BTRFS, evade Hardware which relys on AUR, evade Boot Encryption.
This are in my experience the most regular points where you run in issues… again and again if you don’t want to deal with advanced maintaining but you only forced to basic maintaining and that you still have to keep and eye on Known issues)
With a more simpler system, you have less attack surface… if you want to rely on encryption i recommend to use Veracrypt on a Secondary partition (non-boot).
Boot partition encryption is the worst and weakest security anyways! Because when you boot, it has to be unencrypted anyways (for permanent usage) till you shut your device down, the security only adds when the device is powered down.
