remove nvidia current and stay with nouveau ( to avoid if you want to still launch games )
add nvidia-580xx-dkms ( and headers for your kernels ) , but with flickering windows
( remove compositor or remove vblank that is required for any vertical sync is not a solution in long term with theses buggy 580 series from nvidia )

Black screen with:

Previous version Zetar 25.0.10 has nos issues.
Boots straight to XFCE.

You have been a forum member long enough to know better.
This is why it’s always a good idea to take a full backup before any big update. I’ve never needed to revert yet, but it’s nice feeling secure that I could if I had to.
I had to reverse the changes more than once, so a Timeshift snapshot before each big update is a must for me… the peace of mind of knowing that no matter what happens you can return to the previous state is priceless.
I updated today and I’m having problems with evince. It sometimes crashes when I try to edit existing PDF comments. I suspect it’s because I accepted all the replacement suggestions during the update, but I don’t know. Can I pinpoint and revert whatever happened? Would it help to reinstall evince?

I found a fix. When I open an annotation in a PDF, there are two nested annotation windows. If I close the outer annotation window, the app window crashes. If I close the inner annotation window, nothing happens.
I still don’t know why the nested annotation windows appear after the update.
Since 6.18 I have been having a CPU all core boost frequency issue after system has resumed from sleep.
For this stable update for AMD Ryzen 7000/9000 users, running Kernel 6.17 or 6.18.
Can anyone check the following, if you know your CPU all core boost frequency:
Put the system to sleep, resume the system from sleep.
Open a monitor application that shows the all the CPU core frequencies.
Run stress -c * where * is the max threads of your CPU, example 16
Monitor the boost behavior of your CPU
Does your CPU all core boost boosts to the correct frequency corresponding an all core load for your CPU?
