@Weidenwiesel Removing orphans (as the name logically suggests) is entirely safe for noobs. Nothing can break that way. In worst case something will be redownload if needed. It is actually recommended because it means less dependencies. It is not uncommon that an orphan stops an update after several months. (In my experience at least 30 to 50% of help- i cannot update topics are aur or orphans)

Yeah, I already ran it and it was fine. And like I said, I can always reinstall stuff when I need it.

I manage too many other servers that I sometimes forget what’s on my personal PCs so forgive my question. I just wanted to be safe ^^

Flawless update on three computers. All, KDE, AMD CPUs, but 1x integrated AMD graphics, 1x dedicated AMD GPU (7800XT) and 1x NVIDIA GPU (1060 GTX). Was expecting a ■■■■ show for the NVIDIA, but no problems whatsoever. Thanks for the hard work, Manjaro Team!

For anyone else still having trouble with signal-desktop: I couldn’t get the standard installation or the flatpak one to work, but the version from Snap is working.

Kicad no longer works with OpenGL acceleration for rendering. Only able to work with the extremely slow “fall-back graphics“.

Kicad unable to use OpenGL after recent update

Hello after updating my 2 systems that was released recently on the stable, Kicad is unable to use OpenGL for rendering. I do not have any other graphics issues on my system, all games and other graphics apps are working fine. I have this issue on both my desktop (Nvidia GPU) and my laptop (Intel GPU). I suspect something went wrong in WXwidgets (also updated in the update) as this is the library Kicad uses to render graphics.

I would never blindly remove orphans. Optional dependencies that you require for your workflow should better be kept

Optional dependencies are not orphans.

Well personally my first reaction would be cancel. Then I would look at what is going on.

Nothing happens if I cancel. But I won´t hit Share until I’m sure.

So it seems you have a remote-desktop-sharing application installed and active? Or it could be related to KDE Connect, possibly, but I wouldn’t expect this?

I certainly wouldn’t share unless I knew what it was.

You are right.

The wiki wording is somewhat misleading when it comes to expressing that a package is required. Strictly speaking, the optionally dependent packages are not required. Technically, however, -Qdt only delivers the packages for which there is neither a dependency nor an optional dependency. The optionally dependent ones would only be taken into account with attribute -Qdtt, which was not clear to me until now. I actually had a case where an optionally required package was uninstalled, but from today’s perspective, it is no longer clear what the reason was .
