I’m having issues with Plasma - the desktop won’t appear after the update.

To be more precise: I get the login screen and can enter my password. After that the desktop won’t appear, but i can still press Alt+F2 and run some applications: e.g. I can run Firefox and Kitty, but not Dolphin or Konsole.

Running sudo journalctl -b -1 -p3 gives me

Seems I might pull the mesa update now to see if that fix things. People can do a sudo pacman -Syyuu to get downgraded.

Hmm. Maybe, maybe not. If the issue were already present before the mesa update in testing it can be something else. Some switched to unstable branch and reported no issues there.

Might be a very stupid proposal, but anyway…What about a new pull for testing first to test, as this error does not be an issue in unstable any more?
I know, it is a oversimplified view, but still…

For me Vivaldi is crashing too, after about 1 minutes of opening, with the same error logs. Any idea what is exactly causing this and how to solve it?

Did you check if downgrading mesa helps for your issue? Cos that was one of the last things I added to this update.

I’m having a strange browser bookmark issue after this update. When I try to drag a bookmark to another location within my Bookmarks folder, Brave, Brave Beta & Chrome all crash.

I tried downgrading Brave to a few releases earlier but it didn’t work. I finally resorted to Timeshifting back to an earlier installation point & voila, everything is working again.

I have no clue how to sort this one out. More power to Manjaro team & community!

Ruziel

Not only Telegram. All flatpak applications have stopped working. :sob:

Unfortunately, in my case, it didn’t work.
Telegram from flatpak, as it hung on the launch command flatpak run org.telegram.desktop, continues to hang. Packages in flatpak have not received updates since yesterday, that is, flatpak upgrade responds that all packages are the latest versions and do not need updating. Only Manjaro was updated, and after that telegram stopped working, although yesterday everything was fine. Whether other packages from flatpak work, I don’t know, since only telegram is installed through flatpak.

My system
$ screenfetch -n
 user@desktop
 OS: Manjaro 24.1.1 Xahea
 Kernel: x86_64 Linux 6.11.2-4-MANJARO
 Uptime: 26m
 Packages: 1456
 Shell: zsh 5.9
 Resolution: 2560x1440
 DE: KDE
 WM: KWin
 GTK Theme: Breeze [GTK2/3]
 Icon Theme: breeze
 Disk: 1,3T / 4,9T (26%)
 CPU: AMD FX-8350 Eight-Core @ 8x 4GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
 RAM: 3066MiB / 32063MiB

OK, then it is something else. Really odd.

I didn’t know. I only have telegram installed via flatpak. And, unfortunately, rolling back mesa doesn’t help.

Mattermost is still not working and the flatpaks of chrome, Firefox and edge also won’t open anymore.

I have an other Problem with the newest Version. After the Update, no newer Kernel than 6.6.54-2 is working without Problems. In any newer Version I lose my network cards after the PC was in Standby.

Really odd. Still investigating …

So I removeded gqrx.
After the updated I attempted to reinstall it, but is no longer available in the repos, so:

yay -S gqrx
:: There are 2 providers available for gqrx:
:: Repository AUR
1) gqrx-git 2) gqrx-nrsc5-git

But I avoided to install it, because for my needs is better Qspectrumanalyzer.

There are a large number of outdated mirrors. The truth is that they are the majority. I don’t know if this should be reported here or somewhere else, I realized watching the announcement that I had gone through two updates without finding out until today I had to switch to the world mirror.

You mean that your reconnection at resume take some time right? A bit longer as before?

@amnol Two of my flatpak apps have stopped working Kpatience and SyncThingy, but others Ptyxis, Godot, Floorp are working normally. So probably app specific.

@Sjiep How is your Vivaldi installed? I have it from the Official Repositories and it’s working fine. Is yours the flatpak version?
