I wonder if it has something to do with the many updated/changed/removed perl and python modules that came with that update. I noticed Audiotube does not start either. Draws a window for half a second and dumpes core.
I am on xfce.

Sure … but for anything beyond ~first,second boot … there is no reason to have it at all … let alone starting automatically.
So many people reporting it broken has us suspecting it is not only brand new systems and so wondering ‘why are you all using it?’

Someone else experience strong fps issue while gaming after the update?

Is this related to the downfall security issue?

Using a nvidia 2080Ti and i7-6700k, strange i though the security issue has only a performance degration related to AVX Code.

Edit: There was maybe some caching problem, the second time i started the game it runs smooth.

Me personally… I tried to start it out of curiosity after i read in the forum it doesn’t start. But i wonder why and if it is a symptom for a bigger problem.

In my case some old dev packages caused the gui not to start. reinstalling pamac-gtk fixed this

With my System (Zen 3 + 7900xt) i just have my screen turn off after boot. I see a grey manjaro like windows with 3 grey dots on it then the screens stop getting input.

I had a somewhat similiar issue on unstable and testing - it was caused by amd-ucode package.

While my issue was fixed with a rebuild of the package - and that package should have made it to stable - you can can test if it is related by

boot to grub - hold shift while booting
press e to edit the highlighted entry
add the number 3 at the end of the kernel command line
press F10 to boot to TTY
login as root
remove package pacman -R amd-ucode
run mkinitcpio -P
run grub-update -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
reboot the system

If it works - - if it does not - it is something else

No direct issues, however:

On running yay -Syu I find that opencl-mesa is not available in AUR. Checking:

the installed version is one build by Manjaro maintainers (so not an AUR install)
it was installed as a dependency
the package (virtualgl) needing it is still installed (it actually calls for opencl-driver).
pacman -Ss opencl-driver lists several options.

Therefore, I assume that it has been removed as obsolete, what is the recommended replacement?

Chrooted into the system and it seems there is a gpu hang after some drm issues the. Your trick also does not work unfortunately. So the second time in 2 months manjaro bricks itself

In the chroot i checked and pacman is sure its up to date on the packages at least.

You are aware that amd is driven by kernel?

And in that sentiment - regressions in kernel sources has nothing to do with Manjaro as distribution.

My system is in some aspects similiar to yours and besides the hickup with the amd-ucode - also not a Manjaro issue per se - it is working as expected

Well it is not booting so its bricked. Though i admit I could be less salty about it, but since i move to a metered 4g connection soon until my Fiber arrives downloading 5gb to have to reinstall makes me feel a bit uneasy.

Nvidia Flickering issue also still exist (while the changelogs telling us another story) with the newest nvidia driver on Turing and Pascal GPU’s, related to high refresh TFT’s.

After a few weeks of not updating, I updated a couple days ago and then again today… and noticed something has changed in the pamac GUI… I can no longer click the > in the lower right corner to watch the download, verify, install progress… neither during or post completion.

I understand from reading previous stable threads that there was a shift to GTK4, that a pamac-gtk3 is available, and may even be a pamac-qt on the horizon… is the issue I’m experiencing restricted to the new GTK4 version, and perhaps replacing it with gtk3 would restore the functionality?

Yes, I also used my second SSD to test out how to update without chroot. use mhwd-kernel to install 6.4, then run pacman and then reboot. That makes a manjaro reboot without issue.

It is something on your end, probably connected to theming or KDE.
The same version on my XFCE has the arrow.
