@philm I have these errors :

I ran the update and it keeps braking my system. I had to boot from a USB and restore to a timeshift backup.

Here is what I ran.

So I only just noticed these errors after updating and restoring from a backup 4 times.
When I reboot I get “Kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)”

To fix this I think I have to do the rebuild grub and mkinitcpio thing. I’ll look into it but I wanted to raise this since I am a linux noob and not sure why this is happening.

Found the issue. In /etc/mkinitcpio.conf the hooks line was HOOKS=“blah blah blah” I changed it to HOOKS=(blah blah blah) and then did mkinitcpio -P and it fixed itself.

I am not sure why this was working for the last 6 months and breaks now.

All of my system fonts are changed. I am with xfce, there was a font config file, can anyone remember where was it?

Downgrading noto-fonts and they are ok as usual.

downgrading noto-fonts fixes broken fonts… maybe some patches missing in the latest version… just wondering!

I have this too, and don’t know why as i uninstalled/removed kernel 6.0 back when i installed 6.1, so very confused at this problem.

Even trying:

mhwd-kernel --remove linux60

Reports:

Found the problem for Kernel 6.0, In “etc/mkinitcpio.d/” i had “linux60.preset” which should not be, it should of been “linux60.present.pacsave” as it was uninstalled.

So renamed to *.pacsave and run “sudo mkinitcpio -P” from terminal and “sudo update-grub” and the Kernel 6.0 error has gone.

Also if you are using ckb-next (Corsair driver/RGB animations) from AUR you will need to rebuild with this update.

Obs still broken since last update

error: VAAPI: Failed to initialize display in vaapi_device_h264_supported

I had to throw away all my Firefox settings. :frowning:
So far that’s all. Last time an update came, Fx refused to start also, but then it was enough to start it in --safe-mode and then start it normally. Sadly, not this time. Tried starting it with no settings, then put them back, same problem:

$ firefox --safe-mode

Looking at hours of setting it up again.

I would recommend you just use the OBS Flatpak

you need to enable experimental features and restart bluetooth daemon

sudo sed -i 's/#Experimental = false/Experimental = true/g' /etc/bluetooth/main.conf

@lucazade found this on reedit as well thank you for fast reply :slight_smile:

Settings → About still shows Gnome version 43.2 after the update. Am I missing something? (changelog has Gnome 43.3)

@audialche could you be more specific? Is it the Mullvad app or even connections to the server via NetworkManager? If the app only, does rebuilding help?

Thanks!

[Update] I went ahead and tried the update. I had no problems with connecting to Mullvad VPN using mullvad-vpn-bin in manjaro-sway.

Kernel 6.1.9.1 with KDE and NVIDIA. After today’s update, I could no longer play video files with vlc-player. Every time I tried, the player terminated immediately. Pure audio files worked without problems. Resetting the player and also uninstalling and reinstalling the VLC player with all dependencies did not change anything. Can anyone confirm this? At the moment I use the Dragon player for videos. Here everything works fine.

I have problems with the keyring and keys. I hope there am on the way, to resolve it.

One good news, my non-steam games works again with wine 8.0. Thanks

That can be a 2 edged sword. To quote the man page:

experimental features are considered unstable

I ran into the issue with Firefox trying to start but being invisible again (ps aux|grep firefox showed that /usr/lib/firefox/firefox was running). I resolved it by changing the relevant Exec fields in my customized .desktop file from /usr/lib/firefox/firefox to /usr/bin/firefox, and it opens with no issues.
