[Stable Update] 2022-11-14 - Kernels, GNOME 43.1, Plasma 5.26.3, Systemd 251.8, Firefox 106.0.5, Thunderbird, LXQt

As mentioned in the issue that’s been open for four years:

…it will not be fixed until File Roller is ported to GTK 4…

A post was split to a new topic: Firefox keeps completely freezing randomly

Yeah but that was on Wayland, it now effects X11, i read that it will be more then just porting File Roller to GTK4, It’s something to do with DND.

Looks like this has been fixed.

After updating keyring, pamac shows 340 updates, pacman 343 I’m think I should of updated with pamac and see if those 3 extra updates remained. I’ll try that next time. Updated with pacman and everything looks fine.

A post was split to a new topic: Libunistring.so.2: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory

Visual Studio Code (code) doesn’t show Title Bar Buttons after the update
Enviroment:

Something is wrong w/ bluetoothd it’s not a bad bug for me since I don’t need Bluetooth currently:

  • Sushi (preview files by pressing space) cannot navigate by using arrow keys any more.
  • A delay opening Nautilus. Such as clicking the Files icon in the dock there is a 3-5 second delay spinning wheel before it opens (first open after boot)
Changing nautilus to show hidden files makes nautilus quit.
org.gnome.Nautilus[4096]: Bail out! ERROR:…/nautilus/src/nautilus-window-slot.c:3146:nautilus_window_slot_set_allow_stop: assertion failed: (NAUTILUS_IS_WINDOW_SLOT (self))

  • ‘folder is empty’ icon seems blurred, along with some other icons for unknown files. or perhaps my eyesight has glitched!?
    Screenshot from 2022-11-14 19-28-50

It could be due to an incompatible extension. Are there any errors running nautilus from the terminal?

nautilus  ✔
GSConnect: No translation file found for domain

edit;* I disabled all extensions, but still slow.

That’s normal. :man_shrugging:

The delay happens the very first time to open nautilus after boot. Subsequent new windows are instant.

If there is some time passed with no nautilus windows open (a few mins) , then the delay will happen again.

@Yochanan did someone forgot to build dkms without arch optdepends or was it always like that? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hello, @jpa

Hello, @GokuSan

Thank you for your response, seems to be electron19’s update based on the last comment in that thread

I will change to native Title Bar Style in the meantime

A post was merged into an existing topic: “Oh no something has gone wrong” error after update

Indeed, it was.

I had hoped that this kernel update to version 6.0.8-1 would fix the problem I encountered with the 2022-11-02 Stable Update on my desktop system:

Unfortunately it has not, so I have again reverted to the 5.19 kernel for now and remain hopeful that future updates will work.

Running Gnome with the prop nvidia driver, after this update night light is not working, and the pamac update indicator is always hidden in the tray. Firefox is misbehaving a bit as well, had two or three crashes this evening so far.
