[Stable Update] 2021-02-28 - Kernels, Plasma 5.21.1, Frameworks 5.79, Firefox, Thunderbird, Python

All worked without any issues for me, running Cinnamon and Kernel 5.10. Now my dropbox plugin in nemo works good again, prob thanks to the glib2 update. Thank you! :grin: :ok_hand:

RAS, kernel 5.11, nvidia, cinnamon.

I totally forgot KDE was getting an upgrade and when I logged back in I was very surprised to see how it looked :heart_eyes: flawless update for me. I’m using kernel 5.9.16-1

I’m getting this warning/error when trying to upgrade. Any advice how to proceed?

every thing is working fine
but wifi gets turned off automatically when i close my laptop lid, it didn’t use to happen before the update :sob: :disappointed_relieved:
[EDIT]: Problem got fixed for my system on going back to lts kernel everything works great now :smile: :heart_eyes:

otherwise everything is fine :blush: :innocent: and i am loving it but menu will take some time to get used to :smile:

i updated through Pamac and it failed to update optimus-manager and optimus-manager-qt.
when i refresh the Database it tries to build both of them from the AUR,but my optimus-manager is from the official repository,and i clicked apply by mistake,but it failed anyway.
how do i update both?
i made a thread with pics: Failed to update optimus-manager and optimus-manager-qt

also after the update there was no reboot option in the application launcher so i had to do it through the terminal.

Edit:
i just checked the journal log and i have ;
Process 1643 (pipewire-media-) of user 1000 dumped core.
errors,that i never got before and looking at the original post it seems related to pulse effect,but i don’t have it installed.(i have pipewire installed)

Hi,

I encountered this problem as well. What I did was I ignored these 3 libraries - lib32-libelf, lib32-llvm-libs and llvm-libs.

I don’t know what other ways to get past this, but it worked for me.

Mesa-git from the official repo also conflicts with the AUR version. When you search for the AUR version, it shows that it’s installed. When you build the AUR version, it won’t update because pamac will show that the official repo is installed.

Have you meant xfce4-power-manager? If yes, have you really downgraded it to its 1.6.6 version?
Or is this a different package?
Thanks!

Thanks @stephane !

Everything is working like a charm.

Two questions:

  1. how do you ignore those packages and install the rest? Never mind, read the man page, found the --ignore switch :slight_smile:
  2. any way to figure out how mesa-git got installed? I only ever do stable updates, so I guess some other package must have installed it.
  3. bonus question: should I uninstall mesa-git and install mesa?

[edit: just checked, mesa-git got installed from the official repos, not through the AUR]

Firefox 86.0-0.1 and 86.0-1 fail to start but Firefox 85 works fine. Xfce on 5.10 and 5.04. Get this output followed by the Mozilla crash reporter:

ExceptionHandler::GenerateDump cloned child 1967
ExceptionHandler::SendContinueSignalToChild sent continue signal to child
ExceptionHandler::WaitForContinueSignal waiting for continue signal…

cinnamon, 5.4rt, allis well great job as usual, Thank You!

I can’t reproduce it, but there is an open Arch bug report: FS#69821 : [firefox-86.0-1] Crashes on start

EDIT: Fixed with 86.0-2 and pushed to all branches.

The Manjaro team just takes whatever from the KDE devs, so better file a bug upstream

If you don’t know what “upstream” actually means, please read this:

So upgrade to 5.4 LTS (Long Time Support) or 5.10 LTS (whichever works)

Execute:

echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

if it gives x11, take option 2 ( glfw-x11)

Hi guys,
good work @philm thank you,
can eny one tell me where can I find the latest ISO that uptodate? because all I found is an old one (210203),
thanks

This update broke screen casting in gnome wayland.
I downgraded pipewire (1:0.3.22-1 → 1:0.3.21-1) and got working.

Hi,
with this update, this bug is still present:

This solution doesn’t work:

Can someone help me? I think I have to downgrade something, but I don’t know what exactly. @philm Is there a specific package related to the opening of externals links in GTK?
