I am using the gnome desktop environment. Aftrer update i was unable to run the terminal, found a solution on the forum though. not sure how to add link to that post, so here it is
1 Run: gedit /etc/locale.gen and uncomment en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
2 Run: sudo locale-gen
3 That’s it ! You should be able to open gnome-terminal now.

Pacman installed all updates on my desktop, rebooted and all is running fine. Running latest stable recommended kernel.
