[Stable Update] 2019-12-29 - Kernels, KDE Apps 19.12, Xorg-Stack, Mesa, Qt5

KDE - all good, but... after EVERY restart an empty notepad (plasmoid) appears on the desktop. There is nothing in the autostart, and I also start every session empty again. Where does that come from?

This question is OT here, open new thread, please.

Okay I'll bite why make an announcement when we shouldn't update yet or even push it for that matter

Why is the OT, after all it concerns THIS UPDATE, or seems to be a consequence of it.

I had finished the update and rebooted before this thread had appeared! No problems.

Adding my "say what" to the thread. I haven't yet - I saw them appear and as usual checked here first. The strange video wasn't oh super helpful in decoding how serious this was or not.

Just update, do not update statement is a joke

I suspected as much. But of course it's spreading elsewhere as a serious warning.

Shut down pamac first.

Do not reboot start the update again from the terminal.

sudo pacman -Syyu

Try to switch to a tty

Ctrl+alt+f2 (or f3)

Then update

killall -9 -ir pamac

select/enter "y" for both processes

Too late :stuck_out_tongue: Works fine on 4.19. But on 5.4.6 my Matebook 13 wifi is still not working. Intel Cannon Point Wireless-AC 8265 (a/b/g/n/ac).
