[Stable Update] 2019-08-13 - Kernels, XFCE 4.14, KDE, LibreOffice 6.3, Discord, Mesa

Update on XFCE went through fine, however LibreOffice is still on version Version: 6.1.6.3
(Build ID: 6.1.6-2). Am I missing something here?

I've an old slap-top that I stream to my flat screen tv. I used to leave the HDMI cable attached and boot with no problem. Now the slaptop boots trying to out put to the tv (even when tv is off) and the monitor on the slaptop is scrambled. Thus I can not read the grub menu! I also lost my panel, which freaked me...

After walking the dog........

I unplugged the HDMI and my panel returned, poof! All is well except I must boot with the HDMI cable unplugged. :slightly_frowning_face:

No issue with the update. Now to adapt to Xfce GTK+3.

For now, two things i stumbled into:

  • panel transparency is disabled by default. Now one needs to choose a solid color with a transparency in the color picker for the panel (i go with full black with ~80% transparency)
  • volume notifications got disabled. "Xfce volume control" can be enabled again from the notification settings.

if you choose to remove libplacebo-git (which seems to be from the aur), it will get replaced by the libplacebo from manjaro repos.
I would suggest to do it, so it would prevent any further dependency conflicts. However, if you need the git version of libplacebo for your work or something then it's a different matter.

After this update I had issues with xfce4-notifyd-gtk3:

It seems that I have problems with my 4 Screens, and xfce-settings.
Seem to be that bug: https://git.xfce.org/xfce/xfce4-settings/commit/?id=09bdf5d1118b9ba8ce48fb8cf4528f024b218be2

Flawless update on 2 KDE machines. Thank you.

Flawless update as usual! Great job Manjaro!

2600x, 5.2.8 kernel and a GTX 1060 on KDE

Another stumble after updating xfce4 to GTK+3: light-locker is no more triggered by xflock4.

PS : Maintenance on light-locker seems still ongoing.

If you have Youtube-dl updated with pip, you have to uninstall youtube-dl with $sudo pip uninstall youtube-dl, then update the system and install youtube-dl with pacman again.

I suppose it depends on which one you have running. Libreoffice-Fresh says: Version 6.3.0.4 with Build ID: 6.3.0-0 The ID is what they worked from and the Version is where you are at now.

Sorry, I dual boot stable and testing. I am on testing now. My bad.

You seem to be using libreoffice-still. libreoffice-fresh package has been updated.

Again an uneventful update to xfce 4.14 (with compiz runnig) on a Ryzen 2700 & LTE Kernel 4.19.66-1-MANJARO + old and sturdy Nvidia GTX 760.
Thanks Manjaro Team! Keep on rocking...
The nvidia bug (using nvenc with ffmepg) still prevails. No changes and dwindling hopes that it will ever work again. Last working nvidia version was linux419-nvidia-1:418.74-5....
In case someone wants to test it:
ffmpeg -i input.mp4 -y -c:a aac -c:v nvenc -threads 16 output.mp4
will lead to a segmentation fault

Perfect update as usual via tty , KDE with 4.19 and Nvidia running with zero issues .

XFCE, 5.2.4-1 - For whatever reason, I'm unable to see the updates in pacman or pamac. I've updated my mirrors list and rebooted, but to no avail. Any ideas? I'm really looking forward to the XFCE 4.14 update.

Nevermind, I was finally able to upgrade; Sorry for my impatience.

XFCE, 5.2.8-1

Everything went smoothly! Thanks for all the hard work.

Flawless update, Thanks to the Manjaro team!
