Cheers!!

xfwm4 is highest when doing nothing.
The major CPU usage grabs chrome when playing Youtube videos. CPU load at 80 - 100% and temp is going crazy then.
It's like GPU acceleration is disabled completely.

Next issue with XFCE: My multi-monitor setup is set to laptop screen only after reboot.
It should stay at Laptop - Monitor 1 - Monitor 2 (primary)
I can't even load a setup profile, the list is empty even after saving a profile.

Update on 12 Systems and 1 VB without Problems.

DK3

Everything went super smooth! No breakages at all!

The only inconvenience was that my screen resolution was bumped up to WQHD from Full HD on reboot.
Probably because of the XFCE component's update!

I have the same issue... How did you do that?

:: File /var/cache/pacman/pkg/bashrc-manjaro-5.0.007-1-any.pkg.tar.xz is corrupted (invalid or corrupted package (PGP signature)).
Do you want to delete it? [Y/n]

I did try the nuke option from @jonathon ( Issues with "signature is marginal trust" or "invalid or corrupted package" )

Did you also try re-downloading the package file?

I did a pacman -Scc, then the nuclear option, presented (removal I believe all keys and re-adding them), then pacman -Syyu, and I get this:

What am I doing wrong?

KDE, TTY update. Flawless, thanks Manjaro devs.

Hm. Try the steps in the first post of the "Issue with signature is marginal trust..." thread again.

Good grief... I've been doing this for five years... ? :exploding_head:

I've just found out there's some issues with wine-staging ... some black screens/games not run, and application's main shortcut doesn't appear on the desktop. The .ink file does, but am needing to drag the .exe to desktop to make a shortcut. Have downgraded for now.

Noticed that Mass Effect 1 (my usual test of Wine effectiveness) chokes on wine-staging. The loading screen flickers, and same in the event of actually managing to play the game. Totally unusable.

System fonts are messed up after the last update. :frowning:
I am using GNOME.
Anyone else having the same issue ?

Looks like a theme issue. Check with Adwaita. (this is a good first step generally for GNOME issues)

This makes my machine nearly unusable. XFCE4 without Thunderbird, Firefox or anything running except background tasks (all are at 0% or flicker to 1%) never goes below 26% and goes as high as 40%. Even typing this message, screen draw is in slow motion. It also causes CPU temps to stay high.

Anything we can do to fix this? It's absolutely frustrating...

Updated with no major issues.

I get only one warning when using requests:

/usr/lib/python3.7/site-packages/requests/__init__.py:91: RequestsDependencyWarning: urllib3 (1.25.2) or chardet (3.0.4) doesn't match a supported version!

But i fix this upgrading "requests":

sudo pip3 install --upgrade requests

Thanks!

This? Or perhaps start a new bug report? @pappl @acutbal

The current workaround I've got is simply disable xfce's compositor for now -- that should take care of xfwm4 hogging the cpu:

...do note though, this also disables v-blanking even if you have nvidia's composition pipeline on...in my case it results in minor screen-tearing in firefox but I can't see a difference in gaming.

I also tried the latest version of xfwm4 in unstable this morning and still nada. :man_shrugging:

Turning Enable display composting off and on again fixed the CPU issue. XFCE4 is back down to 0%-4%.

Amazing! Thanks so much for this. (Queue the IT Crowd video).

Edit: After several hours, the XFCE4 was creeping back up from 0-1% to 15-18%, so completely turning display composting off has fixed the high cpu issue for the moment. Confident this will be resolved as others seem to have the same issue.

I'm a little confused on your DE description...are you running 4.13 with the "*-gtk3" packages or are you still on 4.12? I'm curious to see whether or not this yet another issue affecting the non-free nvidia drivers...
