#84

Hm. Meanwhile I got it how the dkms patches work, sorry  Anyway the 411 extramodule isn’t working for me…

#85

Well this is mysterious. I just reinstalled the broadcom-wl-dkms version from the repo again and now it’s working with linux411, too. I have no idea what happened in the first place but seems there’s nothing that would need to be fixed

#86

I still get the same problem with i3status-manjaro.

Did you mean to rebuild it manually??? usually I do not do that for official pkgs.

#87

This is wrong. Your script is a script and not a config file for i3status.
You would need to run i3status -c ~/i3status.conf

#88

I do that just for testing. In my i3 config I put

I used to do that, and it was working.

#89

You’re mixing it up.

"status_command $i3_path/i3script.sh" in i3 config is ok

"i3status -c ~/.config/i3/i3status.conf" in terminal is ok

"i3status -c ~/.config/i3script.sh" no matter where, is not ok!

I’m not sur if the format for the argument might have changed, I am trying to confirm that right now, but try in your script to replace --config with just -c - that should work in any case.

#90

I repalce --config with -c in my i3script.sh and the problem persist.
Could you tell me where to find warrings/error logs of i3 or istatus for debugging.???

#91

What is the terminal output when you run

i3status -c ~/.config/i3/i3status.conf

?

#92
$ i3status -c ~/.config/i3/i3status.conf
Segmentation fault

but without -c ~/.config/i3/i3status.conf

$ i3status
i3status: trying to auto-detect output_format setting

#93

What’s the content of your i3status.conf?

I replaced my i3satus.conf with /etc/i3status.conf and it works but the out put is different I should fix my i3script too.
I do not iknwo what is chnaged with the new release of i3staus that breaks old scripts
!!!

#95

Something in your custom i3status.conf must be incompatible with the latest version then …

#96

Yes. When I use your config, my bar crashes, too!

#97

I’ve added some more information on github. Let’s see what Airblader has to say

#98

I now just removed the commented lines at the beginning of your config and now it works
Try that @kbk !

edit: removing just the first line with all the hashes is enough.

#99

ohhh, it works. thank you so much @oberon
so, the bug should be in confuse!!!

#100

It has already been fixed on github. Just uploaded a package confuse-3.1-1.1 to unstable branch.

#102

Great work. thnak you so much. Many thanks to the mantainer of libconfuse, he was very quick in fixing it.

#103

Hi everyone.

New to the forum, but been using Manjaro XFCE since 0.86.

After this update system freezes and I’m getting a kernel panic message.
I’ve trying to reinstall by booting live-USB + chrooting + ‘do the Pacman’ procedure:
pacman -Syy
pacman -Qnq | pacman -S -
pacman -Syu

but the problem is not solved.

Any advice??? Thanks in advance.

-JB-

Edit: Forgot to mention, system hungs after login both with kernel 4.9 and 4.11. I have another (older hw) machine with Gnome Desktop updated, and it’s fine.

#104

I’m having a similar problem: kwin compositing doesn’t work, even if I don’t get your error message:

kwin_core: Failed to initialize compositing, compositing disabled

(maybe I should enable logging in some way?)

I’m using Intel GPU drivers.
